macramé inspiration

New, incredible macrame from Saly Englund in a brilliantly empty space. (Remember her awesome headboard?)

I’m putting on my decorator hat again for the show. And between scouting the first 4 houses and finally reading one of Peter’s books all the way through, I am more convinced than ever that less is more. Do you guys watch organizing shows?

I haven’t read those books but now I want to. I just moved and purging is such an exhilarating feeling. But it’s like I have to DECIDE to live a certain way or lots of stuff (albeit cute/clever stuff) will creep into my living environment. You should see my grandparents house. Bordering on horders, not kidding. I’m sort of secretly doing a photo project on it but I am not making the photos public right now.

i watched the first season of hoarders. it was fascinating. i believe the things we live with, how we live, etc. is much more multi-faceted than just “decorating”. yet, you don’t always hear about this other side of design.

on the macrame from, there is this ginormous one at the j.crew in soho against a black wall, was just there yeaterday. would live it much more if it were not an owl, but still looks pretty rad against the dark wall…

i bought several old macrame books off of ebay a few years ago, but never got around to getting crafty.
