flowers + polaroids

Took a break over thanksgiving weekend and slowed down. Ended up splurging on these incredible flowers from cookbook and trying them on all over the house. Then I tested out my old polaroid (buy film here). Turns out this one doesn’t work. But I still like the results. More like paintings than pictures.

I was eyeing those exact same flowers at Cookbook the day before Thanksgiving-they look great in your home, and a perfect autumn splurge.

Gorgeous photos of one of my favourite native Australian flower. “Banksia”. There are many varieties of banksia. I love the spiky leaves. Some varieties seed during forest fires (like a lot of the native flowers there). They are also heavy nectar producers (some varieties produce stronger scent at night) and are an imporant food source for lots of little critters like possums, bats, birds and of course bees. The animals in turn provide important pollination.

Wow, what amazing flowers! Do you know what they’re called? I’d love to have a plant like that…

I always love waiting for the film to develop, it might be me but it seems to take sooooo much longer than the older packs.
