Apartment Therapy Offices

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

I finally made it to the new AT offices to meet some of my blogging compatriots face to face. It was great. I got sandwiches with managing editor Aaron and Sarah C and even had a chance to visit with Maxwell before he jetted off to Brazil!

The office is exactly what you would expect: it feels clean and organized (it was so quiet too with everyone tap tap tapping!) and there is great light, a great view and even plants.

(this one was an experiment with a new tilt shift app for the iPhone).

Fall Colors Inspiration

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

I was just catching up on some of the Fall Colors Contest Entries on AT and had to share these three favorites.

Maggie’s Goodbye to White Walls

Jesse’s Tuned In Space

Dave and Melanie’s Craftsman Color

Bedroom Inspiration

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

I don’t know, there’s something so natural, but still stylish, about Maxwell’s Bedroom. Love those pillows and that the room looks like people live there. Normally I’m a real blue and green person but I really love these warm colors.

More LA Blogs!

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

OK, I was getting sad that I hadn’t added more LA design blogs to the right hand toolbar, but with the start of the Cure on Apartment Therapy (you’re not too late to sign up btw) I’ve unearthed a couple more LA based bloggers covering their Cure progress:

Design Bee’s Tiny Abode
Apartment 235 (which is funny because I just moved from a 235 street address)
Apartment Living: Color and Life
Hollywood and Western

[The poster image is from Designer Bee’s Blog and you can buy it here]

Editor in Motion

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

All of us editors at Apartment Therapy LA got together this past sunday to ‘discuss’ and ‘pow wow’ and ‘eat a lot of cadbury mini eggs’.

I like this picture because it looks like I’m saying something important. But probably I was just describing that it took me 4 hours to get to Pasadena.

TGIF and a House Tour

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

I feel all vulnerable and exposed, but I’ve posted a tour of my apartment on Apartment Therapy from before I moved out. There are still so many things I want to do. But I guess I’m a good example of someone that’s into this, doesn’t spend much money and I just like to live simply with pretty things. Check it out.

Wired Living Home

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

So I got to go to the fancy cocktail party for the opening of the Wired Living Home earlier this week. Beside it being so full of people that it was hard to even get a load of the house, it was pretty impressive. I mean it’s a huge modern house designed by a whole design firm on a hillside in a really nice part of LA. What’s not to like? You can read about way ore of the details over on Apartment Therapy. I also uploaded a whole (dark) photo tour….

I loved the wallpaper in the kids room and the guest room. It was listed as being from either Hollywood at Home or Luna Textiles.

ADHD in Venice

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

So I went to the opening of ADHD in venice, the Ty Pennington Store. I’ve posted about it here and Turquoise has also posted some pics.

I was absolutely stunned by how much I wanted everything. I only know Ty from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. I would generally say the style on that show is more mid west than my taste. So who knew he was going to put together really sleek modern furniture with up to date prints, a stellar showroom and in a to die for location? I guess I don’t know everything.

So, seriously, check it out. Join me at the covet party.

High on my list are the ceramic cup and saucers (pictured) along with the amazing wall/shelf he had going on behind them. There were a half dozen other wall decals, lamps, bedspreads, nightstands and dining table that I felt like I couldn’t live without, but thought it would be rude to buy it right then at the opening (wink).

ATLA briefing

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

I’ve gotten a lot of requests for a list of my postings on ATLA so here is a rundown with links.
(We’re still making the transition, so Gregory is nice enough to format things for me which is why often it’s his signature at the end of the post):
